About Me

I'm Jessie Filer! I started medical writing in 2019 and never looked back. I have always enjoyed variety in my studies and experiences, and so medical writing turned out to be my dream career. I resonate with an energetic buzz each time I get to study a new therapeutic area, a new drug, or even new principles of communication or instructional design. I am never bored! 

My specialties and favorite types of projects are sales training and medical education modules. I also develop diverse deliverables across several other niches of medical writing such as medical affairs, grant writing, publications, and more. My eclectic background prepared me well for a field as expansive as medical writing. It is this diversity of experience that allows me to connect with any audience and communicate complex topics effectively. 

Examples of my varied experiences include: 

• Completing 3 undergraduate majors in organismal biology, psychology, and Spanish
• Working in analytical chemistry for 1.5 years
• Teaching English and science to kindergarten and elementary students in South Korea
• Completing an interdisciplinary PhD in cell & molecular biology; my research on diagnostic assays and biosensors included studies in virology, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, electrochemistry, and more

In my spare time, I love to practice martial arts, dance, and travel. I enjoy studying philosophy, theology, languages, medicine, and more. I live in Colorado with my family.
